Livestock Sales Terms

Our goal is to offer a smooth and transparent sale that results in happy buyers and happy animals.  Below is a list of important facts you need to know about your livestock purchase from Stonewild Heritage.

Lambing Reservations

We keep a lambing-specific mailing list that we use only to notify you about lambing – the important stuff without any extraneous chatter.  To ensure you’re on the list, send Natalie an email.

To reserve a lamb, fill out the Lamb Reservation Form and send your deposit. You can send the deposit via cash, check, or card.

Deposits

Deposits are $100 and must be received in order to reserve a lamb. Unless the animal you are buying becomes unavailable for any reason, deposits are not refundable, but may be transferred to another animal at our discretion. We reserve the right to withdraw any animal from availability for any reason at any time.  If this happens, we will refund your deposit.

Upon receiving a deposit, we will send you a receipt noting the amount, identification number of the specific animal (if known), and total remaining balance.

Payment

Payment can be made via cash, gold, silver, card, or Venmo. All funds must be cleared, and the animal paid in full before it can leave the farm.

Boarding/Care Fee

Animals must be picked up within seven days after the animal is available.  For lambs, this is the weaning date which will be clearly communicated at the time you make a deposit.  If you cannot take possession of your animal within seven days, a care fee of $3 per day may be assessed and will be due before the animal will be released to you.  If this fee is not paid or the animal not picked up within two weeks after the sale date, the animal will be considered abandoned and will be re-listed for sale.  Any funds paid will be forfeited by the buyer and applied to the cost of caring for and advertising the animal.

Pickup/Shipping

We are available most days (no Saturdays, without exception) for pickup on our farm and we can work around your schedule.

The closest major airport is GEG (Spokane) and is about 2 hours from our farm.  We will work with you to arrange for pickup and shipping.  All crates, health testing and shipping fees are the responsibility of the buyer and must be prepaid to us or, for health certificates, directly to our veterinarian, Bonners Ferry Veterinary Clinic.

Health

We will never sell any animal with a known health problem or genetic defect unless it is mutually agreed upon by both buyer and seller with full disclosure and any available health or veterinary records.  In general, animals with genetic defects will be culled or sold with disclosures, depending on the defect.

No warranties or guarantees of fitness are implied. All livestock is sold as is.

Vaccinations

Because of our commitment to natural health and the body’s own healing abilities, we do not and will not vaccinate animals on our farm.  Should you choose to vaccinate an animal you purchase from us, it will be at your expense and after you have taken possession of the animal.

Updates/Photos

Getting a new lamb is an exciting thing!  We completely understand that and try to provide updates to our Instagram page with photos whenever possible.  We try to get photos when we’re out with the sheep, but it can be difficult to get updated photos of each lamb on a regular basis.

Spring is a busy time of year and we’re usually running around trying to accomplish all that needs be done.  In light of this, it is not possible for us to respond to individual requests for photo updates.  Please follow our Instagram account for photo updates as your lambs grow.

Lifetime Support

Your relationship with us doesn’t end when you leave with your new animal.  We want to be here for you for as long as you own your Stonewild Heritage animal.  You can call, email or contact us on Facebook or Instagram to get help with any questions you might have both before and after the sale.  Even if things are going great, we still would love to hear from you and follow along with your story.

Taking Animals Back

If, for any reason, you find that you are unable to care for an animal you purchased from us, simply get in touch.  While we cannot purchase back animals, we can take them back or try to help you find them a new home.  This is determined on a case-by-case basis, but we will always do our best to help our customers and animals.
